Hopes and Challenges in Protecting Environmental Human Rights Defenders

As in the previous report, during this period we also observed the development of advocacy for the protection of environmental human rights defenders in the second third of the year. In this regard, this report focuses on the use of the anti-SLAPP article in the verdict of the trial in Bangka Belitung which acquitted environmental human rights defenders from a lawsuit in July 2021. In closing, this report also provides a consideration and prescription for the work of protecting environmental human rights defenders in the future. Download
